Welcome To My Funeral
This song has a lot of significance to us; it was the song, and this was the video, that originally got us signed to Universal Records and also began our working engagement with Simmons Records for our 2nd album. Our manager took a demo CD to Toronto along with a copy of the video for “Welcome To My Funeral” She met and gave the package to Universal Music Canada A&R rep Mark Spikoluk who then sent our album with “Welcome to My Funeral” on it, to Gene Simmons, thinking he’d be interested. Gene loved it and very quickly Universal was calling to sign us. We didn’t see that coming! We were on tour at the time, and our manager arrived on site in the UK and played us a voice message from Gene Simmons so we could hear it for ourselves. It was kind of surreal like: “Is this a joke?! I don’t know.” After tour, our manager and I flew out to Montreal where KISS was playing; Gene came up behind me in his full stage make up and suit, and introduced himself and the team from Universal. We were signed worldwide 2 months later! That is how our second album, the self titled one, came out. We toured with KISS a few years later, on their 40th anniversary tour! Gene, Paul, Tommy and Eric, they are all great and they put it out every night on tour.
